  1. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE RUNNING THE NEW LOG CALL PROGRAM
  2.  
  3. Do NOT run LC.EXE prior to updating your data files, as it will
  4. corrupt them and make them useless!!!!
  5.  
  6. If you are updating from a previous version of LOG CALL, then you
  7. must convert your data files to use them with this version.  A
  8. program to do this for you automatically is included, called
  9. LCUPDAT.EXE.
  10.  
  11. To convert old data files for use with this version, I strongly 
  12. suggest you make a backup copy of them onto a floppy disk just 
  13. in case something goes wrong during the updating.  To make a 
  14. backup copy to, say, the A: drive, then type   COPY *.LGD A:
  15. and press the ENTER key.  Make sure you are in the directory where
  16. the xxxx.LGD files are located!  and be sure you have a formatted
  17. floppy in the A: drive.  
  18.  
  19. Once you have the backup made, then unzip or copy the new
  20. LOGCALL program into the directory where your data files are
  21. located.  Overwrite LC.EXE, erase DUPLICAT.EXE and the Sx.EXE files
  22. (old sort files).  You should only have two .EXE files to run the new
  23. LOGCALL - LC.EXE and LCUPDAT.EXE.  The old sort files and duplicate 
  24. program are no longer used.

  26. Type LCUPDAT and press the ENTER key.  Your data files will be upgraded
  27. for use with the new LC.EXE program!  All data files are upgraded at
  28. once, so only run the LCUPDAT program ONCE!!  Running it a second time
  29. may corrupt your data!
